유엔 UNESCO등재 문화재청 세계유산위원회 전문위원선정 / 데이비드 윌리엄 김(교양대학) 교수

우리 대학 데이비드 윌리엄 김(David William Kim)교수는 오스트레일리아 시드니대학교에서 글로벌종교문화역사를 전공하고 최근 한국의 전통문화 가치증진의 일환으로 조선왕조 종묘 (“Royal Religiosity: Confucian Thoughts in Joseon Jongmyo Shrine”), 왕실 소격서 (“Royal Joseon Sogyokso and Popcho: The Philosophical Encumbrance of Sarim in the Kimyo Literati Purge (1519)”), 그리고 한국지역 고인돌의 인류문화학적 중요성(“Sacred Goindols and Prehistoric East Asian Life: The Dolmens of the Megalithic Culture on the Korean Peninsula”)을 세계적인 전문학술지 (A&HCI, SSCI, SCOPUS)에 출판하면서 인문사회과학적 전문성을 인정받아 이번에 문화재청 (최응천 청장) 제 31대 세계유산위원회 전문위원으로 선정되었다.
아직 한국문화재 가운데 (국보·보물·국가무형문화재·사적·명승·천연기념물·국가민속문화재) 세계인류역사적 가치를 소유한 것을 발굴.조사하여 유엔의 UNESCO에 등재하므로 그 가치를 인정받게 학술적 재능기부를 하게 될 것이다. 참고로 그는 영국 왕립아시아학회(The Royal Asiatic Society, United Kingdom)와 영국 왕립역사학회 (The Royal Historical Society, United Kingdom)의 영구석학회원으로 전세계 관련분야 학자들과의 Professional networking을 형성하고 있다.
