미국 뉴욕 주립대-올버니 석사과정 장학금 수혜 진학 / 김유빈(사회학과 18) 동문

우리 대학 사회학과를 졸업하고 국민*쌍둥이연구소 연구원으로 활동한 김유빈 동문이 오는 8월부터 미국 뉴욕주립대-올버니(State University of New York-University of Albany)의 범죄학 석사과정에 장학금을 받고 진학할 예정이다.
미국 뉴욕주립대-올버니는 2024년 미국 시사잡지 ‘US 뉴스 & 월드 리포트‘에서 범죄학 분야 대학원 2위에 선정된 세계 최정상급의 연구 중심 대학교이다. 김유빈 동문은 뉴욕주립대 학장 추천 장학생으로 선발되어 매학기 학비의 일부와 별도의 생활비를 지원받을 예정이다.
김유빈 동문은 재학 중 다양한 사회적 현상에 관심을 갖게 되어 각종 학술제에 참여하기 시작하였고, 이후 사회에 기여할 수 있는 연구를 추구하겠다는 결심으로 응용심리학과를 복수전공으로 선택하고, 본교 국민*쌍둥이 연구소 (연구소장; 교양대학 허윤미 교수)에서 연구원으로 활약하였다. 연구원으로 활약하면서 자료수집과 더불어 허윤미 교수와 함께 ‘행동중독’에 대한 유전적, 환경적 특성을 탐구하였고, 그 결과는 SSCI급 국제학술지에 발표될 예정이다. 또한 뉴욕주립대-올버니 석사과정에서 첨단분석모델 기반의 도시 범죄 예방, 범죄 개입 연구를 수행할 계획이다.
