국민대학교(총장 유지수)는 Asean PGA Tour와 함께 아시아 지역 내 골프 인재 발굴 및 양성을 위해 10일부터 12일까지 3일간 군산CC에서 제2회 국민대학교 총장배 국민채리티 오픈을 개최한다. 총 상금 5000만원 규모며, 상금 중 일부는 골프인재 양성을 위한 장학금으로 기부된다. 상위 입상자에게는 Asean PGA Tour 참가 기회와 국민대학교 학점 골프산업학과 및 스포츠산업대학원 골프과학·산업 전공의 입학기회가 부여된다. 남자 112명 여자 20명 등 총 132명의 선수가 출전한다. Asean PGA Tour는 원아시아 투어 시드권을 5장 보유하고 있어 글로벌 투어 진출을 희망하는 선수들에게는 좋은 기회다.
이번 대회 참가자들에게는 국민대학교에서 제공하는 트랙맨 무료 스윙분석 서비스가 제공되고, 고등학생 참가자들에게는 특별 무료레슨도 제공된다.
또한 국민대학교와 Asean PGA Tour는 국민채리티 오픈을 시작으로 내년 2월까지 말레이시아에서 아시아 지역 내 골프인재 발굴을 위한 윈터 투어를 지속 할 예정이다.
