국민대학교 제7대 정성진 총장 별세

국민대학교 제7대 정성진(鄭城鎭, 84) 총장(임기: 2000.03. ~ 2004.02.)이 지난 12일 오전 노환으로 별세했다.
정성진 총장은 경북 영천 출신으로 경북고, 서울대학교 법대를 나와 1963년 사법시험에 합격했으며, 1993년 대검찰청 중앙수사 부장, 2004년 부패방지위원회 위원장, 2007년 법무부 장관을 역임했다.
유족은 부인 서신덕 여사, 자녀 정재훈, 정승훈, 정주현 등이 있다.
정성진 총장은 국민대학교 총장 재임시절 2001년 건축대학 신설, UI 선포, 예술관 준공, 2002년 비즈니스IT전문대학원 신설, '도약2010'프로젝트 발표, 교육부 교육개혁 우수대학 선정, 2003년 생활관 개관 등 국민대학교의 성장 기틀을 마련하였으며, 국민대학교의 새로운 도약의 시작을 탄탄히 이루어 나갔다.
